Announcement: Scenes and Visions: Approaches to 20th-Century Chinese Visual Culture (6-7 Apr; USC)

It's a little far but looks very good, so....

----
Dear Friends,

With much pleasure and excitement, I write to call your attention to an
international conference on modern Chinese visual culture that is going to
take place at the University of Southern California on April 6-7, 2007. The
conference website is now live at

http://www.usc.edu/chinesevisualculture

although I hasten to add that we are still in the process of adding pieces
of information and making adjustments.

The conference Scenes and Visions: Approaches to 20th-Century Chinese Visual
Cultures will bring together scholars from multiple disciplines (art
history, theater, history, journalism, film studies, comparative literature)
to examine a range of visual forms and experiences in twentieth-century
China. Twelve scholars from the U.S., Canada, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and
Europe will be presenting their papers in four panels during the two-day
event.

You are cordially invited to come and participate in this event. We will be
happy to assist you in whichever way we can. For visitors in the LA region,
we will provide free parking. From visitors from out of town, we will be
happy to help you find lodging.

If you need any further information, please feel free to email me at
xiaobing.tang@usc.edu or contact my assistant Sally Kim at sallykim@usc.edu.

With best wishes,

Xiaobing Tang
Professor of Chinese
University of Southern California
