KEYNOTE: EDWARD SLINGERLAND, UNIVERSITY OF BRITISH COLUMBIA

Submissions are invited for papers on any aspect of East Asian thought, as well as comparative papers that deal with significant issues in East Asian thought. Suggested themes for submissions include: examining how recovered texts reframe familiar issues and debates in early Chinese thought; moving beyond the “sinification of Buddhism” paradigm; texts, movements, and figures from neglected eras and traditions; and the current renaissance of philosophy and religious studies in China.

Participants from any geographic area are welcome. For inquiries about the conference, please contact Susan Blake (blakes@indiana.edu) or Aaron Stalnaker (astalnak@indiana.edu).

Please submit abstracts (1-2 pages) by midnight, December 19, 2007. To facilitate blind proposal review, please email your abstract to: mhosek@indiana.edu.
