CFP: EAA, spec. issue "Natural Disasters in Asia: Geography and Environment" (15 May)

Education About Asia (EAA) is the teaching journal for the Association for
Asian Studies. Our readers include undergraduate instructors as well as
high school and middle school teachers. Our articles are intended to
provide educators, who are often not specialists, with basic understanding
of Asia-related content. Manuscripts submitted for consideration for
publication in EAA are evaluated by qualified referees.

We are in the process of developing a special section in the fall 2007
issue entitled, "Natural Disasters in Asia: Geography and Environment." In
this special section, it is hoped that articles will be published where
authors address how the people of southeast, and other parts of Asia have
responded to natural disasters such as earthquakes, hurricanes, tsunamis,
and threats of epidemics and pandemics. We hope this section will be
useful for instructors in all the social sciences. The deadline for
initial receipt of manuscripts for this special section is May 15, 2007.

Prospective authors are encouraged to read our guidelines that are
available at the Web site in my signature below. Interested potential
contributors are welcome to email me about possible manuscript topics.
